St. James\u2019 Church<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Construction of the new parish church began in 1935. By the onset of World War II, the walls had reached a height of 2.5 meters, after which the construction was halted until the 1960s. Works resumed in 1966 and were completed in 1969, with the church being consecrated on 19 January 1969. The interior was fully completed in 1980.
After the apparitions began, additional interventions were made to the church, including the installation of side doors, stained glass windows, new church bells, and an organ.
On the Feast of the Assumption of Mary in 1987, stained glass windows designed by artist Branimir Doroti\u0107 from Samobor were installed in the church. The work was executed by the renowned Italian company Domus Dei from Rome. Across 28 window panes covering approximately 64 m\u00b2, biblical and contemporary themes were vividly depicted. The stained glass windows on the right side illustrate events from Our Lady\u2019s life, while those on the left portray the most important messages of Our Lady in Medjugorje.
The new Stations of the Cross, created by Italian artist Carmelo Puzzolo, were installed in the church on Good Friday, 13 April 1990.
In June 1988, four additional doors were installed to the side aisles of the church, complementing the three existing doors at the church\u2019s fa\u00e7ade.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
