Gradnići Parish – Today a small parish in Brotnjo, once vast in both size and population. Gradnići is the mother parish of all other parishes in Brotnjo. The Gradnići Parish is the oldest parish in Brotnjo and one of the oldest in Herzegovina. It is home to the oldest clergy house in Herzegovina, as well as the oldest wine cellar in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Didak Days is a cultural, scientific, and spiritual event dedicated to promoting the life and work of Fra Didak Buntić. This event began in 2004 in Didak’s birthplace parish and has greatly contributed to presenting the legacy of Fra Didak Buntić to current generations, thus ensuring that the memory of the Father of Herzegovina is preserved. Didak Days have also contributed to the restoration of the religious, cultural, and historical heritage in the Gradnići Parish. This parish boasts an old parish church, the oldest wine cellar, and an old school. As part of this event, the memorial house of Fra Didak Buntić, located in Paoča, the village where he was born, was also restored and opened. A monument to Fra Didak graces the square in front of the parish church. The monument, located in front of the parish church in Gradnići, is the work of academic sculptor Petar Dolić and was unveiled during the third Didak Days. The initiator of Didak Days is Fra Marinko Šakota. The idea of launching the event was warmly embraced by the parishioners of Gradnići, who, through their dedication and hard work, make a significant contribution to Didak Days.
