The tourist, cultural, and economic event “Grape Harvest Days” in Čitluk has been traditionally held since 1955 as the one of great significance for the entire Brotnjo region and its residents. Dedicated to the beginning of the grape harvest, it takes place in September, during the first week after the Church Feast of the Holy Cross, and lasts for up to three days. Year after year, the event continues to grow richer and more vibrant, with the organizers aspiring to elevate it into an international gathering of winemakers, viticulture, and cultural artistry. Many a cultural and artistic association has participated in the “Grape Harvest Days”, sharing and showcasing to numerous visitors the wealth of heritage they diligently preserve. Few regions can boast as many wineries as Brotnjo, but even more remarkable is the recognition that wines from its wineries have already garnered for their quality. Many producers have been awarded gold medals and other prizes and accolades for their outstanding wines, cementing Brotnjo’s reputation as a cradle of excellence in winemaking.
