“Blatnica’s Notes of Kindness” is a music event (open-air festival) held annually in early August on the plateau of St. Francis Church in the small village of Donja Blatnica – the municipality of Čitluk. Donja Blatnica, a village with approximately 500 residents, has been hosting this open-air musical spectacle for 13 years, attracting more than 10,000 visitors each year. The organization of this charitable concert began in 2012, when funds were needed to purchase a bell for the local St. Francis Church and to renovate the churchyard. The residents, together with Mr. Mate Bulić, a well-known singer originally from Blatnica, decided to organize a concert, with all proceeds dedicated to this purpose. After the concert exceeded their expectations and fulfilled its purpose, the organizers decided to continue the event. In subsequent years, new concerts were organized, with proceeds directed toward various charitable projects, including helping children with special needs, equipping schools, supporting the local church, and improving local infrastructure. The concert is named Blatnica’s Notes of Kindness as it perfectly reflects the primary idea behind this musical gathering: spreading kindness, helping those in need, and bringing people together around noble causes. Over the years, many renowned performers from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have graced the stage in Blatnica, alongside numerous local artists who promote the music of Brotnjo and Herzegovina.
