Winery Čitluk
Čitluk Winery was founded in 1957 – For more than half a century, it was part of the state agricultural enterprise, and since 2002, it has been privately owned. The winery has a respectable, long-standing tradition of producing high-quality wines. Its vineyards stretch from Mostar to Čitluk, covering 400 hectares of varying terrains, altitudes, positions, and soil types. Select vineyard locations and a favorable microclimate, combined with a wise balance of respecting tradition on the one hand and continuous modernization on the other, have resulted in wines with a distinctive aroma, full body, and harmonious taste. Produced using modern technology, these wines have preserved their authentic varietal aroma and the character of the region. Wines like Blatina de Broto and Kameno are perfect expressions of the authenticity of local varieties, while wines made from international grape varieties are infused with the soul and heart of Herzegovina. Their bouquet brings a gentle Mediterranean breeze, imbued with the scents of rich nature, sun, and soil. The winery produces wine from grapes grown in its own vineyards, striving for the highest quality. Čitluk Winery is both the largest producer and exporter of wine in BiH. Besides neighboring countries, its wines are most often exported to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Czechia, Poland, Russia, China, India, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Canada, accounting for more than 50% of its total annual sales. At all regional wine-judging fairs, including Vinovita Zagreb, Gast Split, Orahovica, and Mostar Fair, the wines of Čitluk Winery consistently rank among the top in terms of the number of awards won.
