Gradnići Parish – Today a small parish in Brotnjo, once vast in both area and population. Gradnići is the mother parish of all other parishes in Brotnjo. The Parish of Gradnići is the oldest parish in Brotnjo and one of the oldest parishes in Herzegovina. It is home to the oldest parish house in Herzegovina, as well as the oldest wine cellar in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Didak Days is a cultural-scientific-spiritual event dedicated to promoting the life and work of Father Didak Buntić. This event began in 2004 in Didak’s birthplace parish and has greatly contributed to presenting the life and work of Father Didak Buntić to current generations, thus continuing to preserve the memory of the Father of Herzegovina. Didak Days have also contributed to the restoration of the religious, cultural, and historical heritage in the Parish of Gradnići. This parish boasts an old parish church, the oldest wine cellar, and an old school. In addition, as part of the event, the renovated memorial house of Father Didak Buntić was opened. This house, located in Paoča, is the birthplace of Father Didak, and a statue of him stands in the square in front of the parish church. The monument in front of the parish church in Gradnići is the work of academic sculptor Petar Dolić, and it was unveiled during the third Didak Days. The initiator of Didak Days is Father Marinko Šakota. The idea to launch this event was wholeheartedly embraced by the parishioners of Gradnići, who, through their own work and effort, make a significant contribution to Didak Days.
