BLATNICA’S NOTES OF GOODNESS

„Blatnica’s Notes of Goodness“

is a musical event (open-air festival) held every year in early August at the square of St. Francis Church in the small village of Donja Blatnica, located in the municipality of Čitluk.

Donja Blatnica, a village with about 500 inhabitants, has been hosting this open-air music spectacle for 13 years, attracting over 10,000 visitors each year.

The organization of this charitable concert began in 2012 when funds were needed to purchase a bell for the local St. Francis Church and renovate the churchyard. The locals, together with Mr. Mato Bulić, a renowned singer originally from Blatnica, decided to organize a concert, with the proceeds going towards these goals.

After the concert exceeded all expectations and fulfilled its purpose, the organizers decided to continue the event. In the following years, they prepared new concerts, and the funds raised were used for various charitable projects, including helping children with special needs, equipping schools, the local church, and improving local infrastructure.

The concert is named Blatnica’s Notes of Goodness because it best reflects the central theme of this musical gathering: spreading goodness, helping those in need, and bringing people together around noble causes.

Over the years, numerous well-known performers from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have performed in Blatnica, alongside many local artists who promote the music of Brotnjo and Herzegovina.
