GRAPE HARVEST DAYS

The tourist-cultural-economic event “Grape Harvest Days” in Čitluk has been traditionally held since 1955 as a significant event for the entire Brotnjo region and its residents. It is dedicated to the beginning of the grape harvest and takes place in September, during the first week after the Church feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, lasting for up to three days. Year after year, this event becomes richer and more diverse, with the organizers aiming for it to grow into an international gathering of winemakers, vine growers, and cultural creativity.

Many cultural and artistic societies have participated in the Grape Harvest Days, showcasing and presenting a part of the rich heritage they faithfully preserve to numerous visitors. Few regions can boast as many wineries as Brotnjo, and what’s even more significant is that the wines from these wineries have already become recognized for their quality. A considerable number of their producers have been awarded gold and other prizes and recognitions for excellence in quality.
